Tree House

Tree House

John and Cynthia Hardy’s daughter Chiara designed this breath-taking treehouse nestling in the branches of two bunut, or banyan trees, high above an exuberant tropical valley. Cradled and woven in bamboo, cooled by a natural breeze (although aircon is on hand too), its sensuous curves sweep through two large pods cocooning luxurious beds draped in muslin mosquito nets, a magnificent dressing room and into a sleek shower room with hanging bamboo trays, copper basins, oval mirrors and the softest linen towels.

It’s as close to nature as it gets for a small family or romantic couple. Comforted by the gecko’s soothing chirps and the rushing waters of the Ayung river far below, guests will sleep soundly until they awake the following morning to feast their eyes on the mist surrounding mount Batukaru, and far-off padi fields glistening in the morning sun.

As the spiral staircase reaching the Tree House is narrow, we ask guests to bring a second smaller bag for use while staying here. We will store larger suitcases safely until their departure
